My love for handmade home décor and this small business begun during the COVID-19 lockdown through the search for unique, natural, handmade and high-quality home décor. Since I was unable to find home décor that fit my taste – I set off to try make it myself! On top of that, I struggled to find a home décor business that fit my values – of intentionality, purpose, sustainability and supporting small business suppliers. I, therefore, set out to create a business where every aspect is carefully thought out and has purpose, not just there for the hell of it or to look pretty.
I am proud that this business uses mostly small local businesses or students as suppliers, 100% recycled cotton to make most items and 100% recyclable packaging. Since the start – Cotton Woods has gained a community of customers and suppliers with the same values as us and we have grown beyond what I ever imagined.
